Moi and Linktree
Linktree defined this category. "Linktree" is a common noun, its onboarding is measured in seconds, and roughly 40,000 people a day sign up for it. If you want the most widely recognised link page on the internet, with the largest template and integration catalogue, Linktree is the safe choice and this page will not pretend otherwise.
What we share
A page at a memorable URL. Links, social icons, embeds, a QR code, basic analytics. Both are free to start. On these, choose whichever you like the look of.
Where we differ
Who the page is for. Linktree announced on 2026-07-05 that creator profile data (bio, picture, engagement metrics) is shared with OpenAI for ChatGPT search results, with no per-account opt-out reported for non-EU users. Moi is the opposite by construction: which classes of machine reader may read your record is yours to set, one class at a time, revocable, and logged. A withdrawn class gets a refusal.
What happens to your page if the company changes its mind. Linktree acquired Koji and shut it down on 2024-01-31, and acquired Bento and shut it down on 2026-02-13 with all user data deleted. Moi is built so you can leave with everything, in one file, at any moment, without paying and without asking anyone. That is Doctrine 1, and it is tested.
How you are removed. The most repeated Linktree complaint on Trustpilot is an account ban with no stated reason and no human to appeal to. Moi cannot record a suspension without naming the element that violated the rules; your data is retained for the appeal window; and a human decides the appeal at /appeal.
Rendering. Linktree pages are client-rendered with generic metadata. Every Moi page is server-rendered with Person structured data and a machine-readable record beside it, so search engines and AI systems read the facts you published, with their sources.
Answers about you. Linktree has no answering surface for visitors. Moi's Ask page answers only from your record, cites the fact each sentence came from, and refuses the rest.
What Linktree does that Moi does not
Commerce (with a 12 percent fee on the free plan, 0 percent at the top tier), Sponsored Links, an enormous template catalogue, and integrations with most creator tools. Moi has no commerce at all and does not plan to run it on its own rails.
Could not verify
Linktree's exact current prices (they are regional and changed in November 2025) and the precise behaviour of its AI data-sharing switch. Both are reported by third parties with a stake in the answer.
